De-airing pug mills Technical features
Schemes
The Vicentini pug mills with or without vacuum, well known for their adaptability and efficiency in all sectors of the ceramic industry, are used for extruding of ceramic clay body in homogenous and compact form, with or without de-airing.
The de-airing pug mills, available in a large range of models, can be constructed in cast iron for earthenware and terracotta in general, or in aluminium and stainless steel for the treatment of materials which are subject to contamination by iron oxide (rust), like porcelain.
Special devices for reduction of the extrusion speed are available, which facilitate the extrusion of tiles, sunbreaker bricks, evaporators, tubes, etc., avoiding excessive efforts to motor and trasmission as well as the overheating of the clay body.
